Hi! I have the privilege to teach 11th Grade US History, AP US History and 12th Grade Government/Economics, AP Comparative Government & Politics. I am also one of the college advisors at OCSI and the Test Coordinator. I look forward to the opportunities we can discuss topics related to history, government and economics. More than anything, I am excited that we get to grow together as we ask hard questions on real issues that affect our daily lives.
I am a quarter-American and three quarters Japanese. I grew up in Tokyo and studied in Wheaton, Tokyo, Beijing and Seoul. I was in graduate school until 2018 and I worked as an assistant administrative staff at The University of Tokyo from 2018 to 2019. Please feel free to ask me about my college and graduate school experiences, I hope that my own experience can be of help to any of you!
Fun facts: I really love to play boardgames and video games. Mrs. Claxton is one of the fourth-grade teachers here at OCSI. I also love studying about my Okinawan heritage.
I am excited to be part of your journey in life and excited to see God work in your lives!
